A Beat Happening in London

This coming Monday...

BILLY CHILDISH & THE MUSICIANS OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE
A true British cultural icon will be gracing the stage, in the form of wildly prolific painter, poet and garage rock musician Billy Childish. Having been cited as an influence by the likes of Beck, Jack White, Kurt Cobain, and even Kylie Minogue, his career has spanned countless albums, antholoies and collections of paintings, and he'll be talking to us about art, punk rock and poetry before performing with his band.
THE RUBBISHMEN
Possibly the most musically incompetent band in the world (clue's in the name), Robert Rubbish (of the Le Gun art collective) features as one half of this 'Victorian punk revivalist' outfit. Expect songs about tweed, gin and nights on the razz in Dean Street. Played badly.
THE SHE SET DJS
East London's favourite DJ-troupe, the girls will be spinning old school garage rock, doo-wop and 60s r n' b, late into the night.
Tickets are £8 and available here.

Proud Galleries, The Stables, Chalk Farm Rd, Camden, NW1 8AH

Man, I wish I was going. Saw him in NC years ago. Great show and bought many different albums since. ENJOY.
